Man, 20, critical after shooting

A 20-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after being shot at a video hire shop in Birmingham.

Police said the shooting took place at the video shop in Alum Rock Road, Washwood Heath, shortly before 2300 GMT on Saturday.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said the man was in a critical but stable condition. She said detectives were trying to establish a motive.
