A woman passenger was killed and a motorist injured after a crash involving loose horses on a road near Wrexham. A woman passenger was killed and a motorist seriously injured after a crash involving loose horses on the Wrexham by-pass.

The woman was a passenger in the car and the male driver was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital for treatment. Valerie Meyers, 56, from Llanidloes, Powys, was a passenger in a Seat Ibiza. The male driver, 54, was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
North Wales Fire Service said one horse was killed on impact with the car and another was put down at the scene. North Wales Fire and Rescue service said one horses was killed on impact and another was put down at the scene.
Police said a group of horses had been loose on the dual carriegeway.
They have appealed for any witnesses to the crash or anyone who may saw the animals loose on the A483 before the collision to call 0845 607 1002.
